Recipients of the 2022 OSSAA Sweepstakes Award
The Duncan High School Bands have a tradition of excellence and the program is well known throughout the state of Oklahoma. The bands have earned numerous OSSAA Sweepstakes Awards and have consistently been finalists at the Oklahoma Bandmasters Association Marching Championships.
The DHS Bands have also traveled extensively and in recent years have participated in band contests and performances in Orlando, FL, Branson, MO, San Antonio, TX, Dallas, TX, Washington, D.C. and Philadelphia, PA.
The DHS Bands serve Duncan, Oklahoma by performing at DHS athletic events and through performances at various community organization meetings as well as marching in the annual Christmas Parade.
Numerous members of the DHS Bands have been selected to the Oklahoma All-State Band and Orchestra and the Southwest Oklahoma Band Director's Association All-Region Bands. Many Duncan High School Band Alumni have been awarded music scholarships to various universities and colleges.
